There’s something about the first blooms of spring that makes the whole home feel a little lighter, and that feeling was the inspiration behind the Morning Bloom Coaster.

This design brings together soft texture and a gently scalloped edge that echoes the shape of opening petals, creating a simple little piece that feels both practical and beautiful on the table. It’s the kind of project that works up quickly, making it perfect for refreshing your kitchen for the season, putting together a thoughtful handmade gift, or adding a few extra pieces to your next market setup. Whether you choose soft spring colors or richer tones for contrast, these coasters are a lovely way to bring a bit of handmade detail to everyday moments.

Gauge
pattern stitch – first two rounds = 4″ diameter
Gauge is important to your project, so your finished piece will be the size specified in the pattern, and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The hook size for the pattern is based on what I used, but gauge can vary from person to person and be affected by yarn. If it takes you fewer rounds to make 4”, try using a smaller size hook; if more rounds, try a larger size hook.
