The Lovely Day Wall Hanging has all the flowers you need to decorate with a little romance BUT what if you are after something a little more whimisical?
When I was trying to think of something quick I could share for St. Patrick’s Day I knew I could turn some of the flowers from the wall hanging into clovers easily but it couldn’t just be a wall hanging of clovers! I pretty quickly settled on MUSHROOMS.
I have attempted mushrooms in my designs a couple times in the past and never could get it right. I was very excited when this worked out and I’m obsessed and want to share with you how to make it too!
Now this is only a modification to the original wall hanging pattern which can be found here. You’ll find the pattern for the flag and tutorials for mounting the wall hanging there and then you can come back to this post to create the mushrooms!
You can upgrade to the premium Lovely Day Wall Hanging crochet pattern on Etsy or Ravelry, which includes 4 extra floral arrangement inspiration.

Decorating Mushroom Tops
With a white thread, cut a long piece and use it to create the spots on the top of your mushroom cap. I placed these randomly and layered several lines of thread on top of each other to create the spots.
Stem:
Make Two.
Ch 12.
Rnd. 1: 3 dc in 2nd ch from hook, dc 2, hdc 2, sc 6, ch 1, turn and work down opposite side of the ch, sc 6, hdc 2, dc 2, 3 dc in last, join.
Fasten off.
I used the same stem for both sizes of mushroom. I simply placed the top higher or lower on the stem to create different heights for the mushrooms.
Clover:
With E/9/3.5 hook, you’ll follow the same instructions as the small daisy on the Lovely Day Wall Hanging Post but leave out the 5th petal to create a four-leaf clover. I used 10 clovers for my wall hanging.
