Pattern: Scrappy Tunisian Bow

I’m so excited to share my very first Tunisian crochet pattern with you!

I decided that a bow would be a perfect beginner friendly pattern to introduce crocheters to Tunisian crochet. It works up quickly and is a simple shape to create so you can really get the hang of the technique. It only takes a small amount of yarn to make these bows so on top of not needing special hooks you also don’t even need to buy yarn because this pattern is perfect for using up those yarn scraps! I used the Tunisian full stitch which is a simple stitch but gives you a great texture.

The pattern has two sizes. A larger bow perfect for wearing alone and a smaller version that is great alone or as a set for pigtails!

I have mounted my bows to both nylon headbands and duck bill or alligator clips. I really like the look of these with the faux leather cord around the middle. I think it adds some extra texture and the contrast makes the bow more interesting. The middle could absolutely be created by just wrapping the middle with matching or contrasting lengths of yarn and not adding the cord over.
